How to Install the STEP-C32 Stair Lighting Kit
The system uses conventional low-voltage wiring and prepared Dupont connectors. Plan the layout before installing any components.
Step 1 - Plan the Staircase Layout
Measure your steps, determine LED strip positions and choose an accessible, protected location for the controller and power supply. Identify suitable cable routes.
Step 2 - Install the PIR Sensors
Position one PIR sensor near the lower entrance and another near the upper landing. Connect the supplied 5m sensor extension cables to the controller's 3-pin sensor inputs.
Step 3 - Prepare the COB LED Strips
Measure each step, shorten strips at their marked 50mm cutting points if necessary and prepare clean, flat, dry installation surfaces. Avoid sharp folding or twisting.
Step 4 - Wire the Controller Outputs

Troubleshooting Guide
The LED strips do not turn on.
Check the power supply, DC input polarity, controller connections and PIR sensor cables. Confirm the selected operating mode and that the controller receives power.
Some steps do not illuminate.
Check the affected controller output, screw-clamp connections, Dupont adapters and extension cables. Verify that the configured step count matches your installation.
The lights illuminate in the wrong order.
Confirm the LED strips are connected to their intended step outputs and verify the PIR sensor connections and lighting settings.
A PIR sensor does not activate the lights.
Check sensor position, detection obstructions and the 3-pin extension cable connection. Avoid locations with strong heat-related interference.
The lights stay dimly illuminated.
Check whether Night Light Mode is enabled. Continuous low-brightness illumination is normal in this mode.
The lights activate during the day.
This is normal. STEP-C32 does not have a daylight sensor and responds to PIR motion regardless of ambient light.
The system stops working after a wiring fault.
