1. What is the difference between the 576 LEDs/m and 840 LEDs/m RGB COB strips?

The main differences are LED density, brightness, power consumption and cutting interval. The 576 LEDs/m version uses approximately 13W/m and produces around 1100–1200 lm/m. The 840 LEDs/m version uses approximately 18W/m and produces around 1500–1600 lm/m. Its higher density also creates an exceptionally smooth illuminated surface.

2. Which version should I choose for normal home decoration?

For bedrooms, shelving, entertainment areas and general decorative lighting, the 576 LEDs/m version normally provides a good balance between brightness and power consumption. Choose 840 LEDs/m when the strip needs to appear brighter or when maximum COB uniformity is a priority.

3. Is this an addressable RGBIC LED strip?

No. This is a PWM RGB COB strip without individually addressable ICs. The connected strip changes color together as one zone. It cannot produce pixel-by-pixel chasing, flowing rainbow or individually controlled segment effects.

4. Can the RGB COB strip display white light?

Yes. The controller can mix the red, green and blue channels to create a white appearance. However, this is RGB-mixed white rather than a dedicated white LED channel. If accurate dedicated white lighting is your primary requirement, an RGBW, RGBCCT or dedicated white strip may be more appropriate.

5. Does the kit work with Alexa and Google Assistant?

Compatible Tuya WiFi and Zigbee controller versions support smart-home voice control through platforms such as Alexa and Google Assistant. Bluetooth-only versions should not be selected when remote cloud or smart-speaker control is required.

6. Does the Zigbee version require a gateway?

Yes. The Zigbee controller must work through a compatible Zigbee gateway or hub. It is not intended to operate as a standalone WiFi controller. Make sure you already have, or plan to use, a compatible Zigbee gateway before choosing this version.

7. Can the Zigbee version work with Philips Hue?

Compatible Zigbee configurations support integration with Hue ecosystems. Because functionality can depend on the selected controller and hub environment, choose the appropriate Zigbee version if Hue compatibility is an essential requirement.

8. Does Bluetooth require WiFi or a smart-home gateway?

No gateway is required for standard Bluetooth app control. Bluetooth is a practical choice when you want smartphone control nearby without adding a Zigbee hub. Unlike WiFi-based remote control, Bluetooth communication normally depends on being within local wireless range.

9. Can I control the lights when I am away from home?

Remote internet-based control is available on compatible WiFi smart-controller configurations after proper app and network setup. Bluetooth-only versions are primarily intended for local control, while Zigbee remote capabilities depend on the connected hub and smart-home system.

10. Does the strip support music synchronization?

Pro controller versions include a built-in microphone that can react to music and surrounding sound. Standard non-Pro controller versions do not include the built-in microphone function. Check the controller selection carefully if music synchronization is important to you.

11. Can I cut the RGB COB LED strip to a custom length?

Yes. The 576 LEDs/m version can be cut at its marked positions approximately every 32mm, while the 840 LEDs/m version has approximately 26mm cutting intervals. Always cut exactly at the designated copper/cutting marks to avoid damaging the circuit.

12. Can the strip be bent around corners?

The flexible PCB can follow gentle curves and many furniture or architectural contours. Avoid sharp folding, twisting the PCB aggressively or forcing a hard 90-degree bend directly across electrical components. For difficult corners, use an appropriate connector or create a controlled bend with adequate space.

13. Is the RGB COB LED strip waterproof?

No. These strips are rated IP30 and are intended for dry indoor environments. They should not be exposed to rain, splashing water, condensation or consistently damp locations unless additional suitable protection is provided.

14. Why should the LED strip be unrolled before turning it on?

High-density COB LED strips generate heat while operating. When the strip remains tightly wound on the reel, that heat becomes concentrated and cannot dissipate efficiently. Fully unrolling the strip before prolonged testing helps prevent excessive temperature buildup and potential LED damage.

15. Can I connect this LED strip directly to a 110V, 220V or 230V wall outlet?

No. The strip and controller operate at DC 24V. They must be connected through the supplied compatible power supply. Never connect either component directly to household AC mains voltage, as this can immediately damage the system and create a serious electrical hazard.
